Our private Linux servers
give you significant advantages

The bottom line of virtual and dedicated servers is that though they have a higher floor-cost than some substitutes, they let you do a much broader range of real things with real safety and reliability.

Run any application. Our virtual servers are complete "Linux Computers." They have a kernel, RAM, swap, disk, and software, all pre-installed and sitting on a public Internet IP address. You can login as root and install any software that you wish that is available on x86/Linux.

Communicate any way you need to - with greater reliability. The ability to have both your own IP as well as EasyCo MultiPathing for common technologies, as well as special-case MultiPathing assures that you will be able to have highly reliable communications for your servers. Most data center environments only deliver 97% practical connectivity, though they deliver 99.9% or better server availability. Learn why EasyCo's unique MultiPath communications technology with it's 99.9% practical connectivity is better.

Run safely. Our system is designed to protect you from your neighbors and the vicissitudes of the outside world, while giving you a redundancy plan appropriate to your needs. Unlike many others, EasyCo places firewalls in front of your system to block unauthorized use as part of it's "build" of all systems. If you want to run special processes with your own direct-path IP number, you will have to add a secondary firewall to deal with the firewalling needs of the specific IP number. Within system firewalling is part of the virtual server install.

A separate and secure file system. A virtual server is totally separate copy of Linux customizable by you, with its own kernel, file-system, processes, and RAM. When you are logged into your virtual server, you have to look pretty hard to realize that you are not on a standard RedHat 7.3 system connected to the Internet. All standard Linux applications run in our servers "as is."

Program faster. Root privileges, SSH and other programming conveniences eliminate headaches. Because our virtual server technology lets us give you a secure environment that cannot attack/bother your neighbors, you get full administrative access even to the extent of having your own "root" account and green screen access via SSH to fully administer the system. This can save you oodles of programming and management time.

The safety of tying to other machines. If you are doing things with dynamic data and custom applications, you are going to need other systems to protect copies of your data, as well as some sort of redundancy plan. We can provide all of those needs with our multiple sites and sophisticated data-movement plans.

The advantage of low cost single-purpose machines. We use our virtual systems to run our general hosting business, MirroredHosting.com. Virtual machines let us build single-purpose machines. For instance, we have some virtuals that do nothing but DNS, others that do e-mail, and others that merely virus- and spam-filter. The advantages of this approach are several:

First, we can lock down a machine tighter and more securely by this means because each is single-purpose rather than multipurpose. Second, we can build up machines far more easily because there are no conflicts between applications to resolve. Finally, if things go wrong, we can rebuild or reboot virtual machines far more rapidly than we can a physical machine -- a kernel panic on a virtual does not halt the underlying hardware.

Our machines are of low enough cost that you, also, can afford to not put all your eggs in one basket, and can instead make setup and maintenance easier for yourself by building single-purpose systems.

The freedom of real estate. We deliver a true virtual server, which means that you get (and use in your own storage space) a full copy of Linux. Our virtual systems range in size from 2 to 32 gigabytes. Our Linux install only consumes about 1.05gb, leaving you an immense amount of free space. Many virtual server providers plans start you off with as little as 200 megabytes of usable space, and often become prohibitively expensive at the storage levels we provide. Similarly, they don't protect your data with mirroring.
